Our Journey Through Life’s Roads

Today’s blog is written by Debbie Fletcher. Debbie and her husband Lee Fletcher are dedicated volunteers who serve in many areas and lead a group called “Starting Point”.

Today’s Reading
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (-Jeremiah 29:11)

No matter how God has prepared us in advance for when we surrender our lives to serve Him, we are not done or fully grown. In fact, the greatest challenges to learn and grow are ahead! Not coincidentally, Paul met Christ for the first time on a road and he would “meet” Him on every road he traveled for the rest of his life.

We probably did not see a light and hear a voice from Heaven, but we met Christ somewhere on the road to our chosen destinations. Our lives took a detour at that point, and we’ve been walking ever since on the roads He’s placed before us. Life is not only about receiving Jesus and one day seeing Him. Life also is about walking with Christ and learning from Him on the winding road of this life on earth.

Lee and I are excited to be leading a group through a course called “Starting Point”, beginning on February 26th. It is designed for new believers, those with questions about their faith walk, or perhaps someone who has been away from the church and is coming back. This life God has given us is quite a journey, it only takes one step to accept God as your Savior. We would LOVE to walk along side you as we share this study of Starting Point. You can find us at: thepointva.com/groups – Starting Point.

Reflection
Just like our human relationships, we can only know each other, begin to trust each other, and love each other with time spent together. Are we spending purposeful time with our Heavenly Father? His greatest desire is to have us, all of us. This can seem daunting at times, can’t it? Let God show you an area you might need to adjust, in order to be at His feet more often.

Prayer
Father, you have so much to give, share, and teach us through this life on earth. I pray our eyes and heart would always be open to your sweet voice whispering in our ear. There is no better place to be than aligned with your will, walking in your footsteps. Equip us mightily Lord, with power and discernment we can only get from you. We love you Lord Jesus!! Amen.
