Created with Purpose

Scripture:

“So I run with purpose in every step…” (1 Corinthians 9:26 NLT)

Reading:

As my elementary students passed around seashells the other day, our science lesson took an unexpected turn. This is one of the gifts of teaching at a Christian school. Those holy interruptions where creation points straight to the Creator.

We were talking about how God designed shells for a specific purpose. As I watched little hands turn those shells over, I could not help but point out that If God is that intentional about mollusks, how much more intentional is He with people He formed in His image?

Granted, it is a big leap from shellfish to children, but it gave me the perfect moment to share one of my favorite reminders of who we are in Christ.

Paul wrote, “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10)

Each one of us is uniquely created to bring about God’s goodness to our generation. Every student in that room, every person trying to find their way, we are intended for divine purpose.

“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” (Psalm 139:14)

God has woven His purpose into your very being. And the beauty is, you may have no idea how He plans to use you. If a shell could think, it certainly could not have imagined that one day it would help reveal God’s heart to fifty children, but God knew. In the same way, we often walk into assignments unaware of how He will use our presence, our gifts, our simple obedience. But He knows.

You are here, right now, in this exact place by His design.

“… [God] having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God…” (Acts 17:26-27).

Today, rest in the truth that you were created by divine Love to reveal divine love (1 John 4:19). Invite the Holy Spirit to make you aware of the moments He designed for you. Pay attention to the gentle nudges. You never know what simple thing God might use to draw someone’s heart toward Him.

Your Turn:

  1. Where have you seen God’s intentional design in your life recently, even in small moments, like a seashell in a classroom?

  2. How can you run with purpose today, knowing that God has intentionally crafted you for a specific role in His plan?

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I love You. Thank You that You have given me divine purpose in Your Son Jesus. Holy Spirit, please guide me into moments designed to reveal how good and loving You are! Amen.
