Day 1 - SL 40 Days

Day 1:

‍1 Peter 3:15: but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect

Devotion:

Peter calls us to be prepared to give a response for the hope that lies within us with gentleness and respect. When you encounter someone who is not of the faith, especially if they’re hostile, it’s easy to get sucked into their hostility and be hostile back. Today’s devotional will be centered around your own heart and preparing it well, so that you can speak to others hearts when the time comes.

Questions:

1. What are you currently sitting with that you’re trying to hide from God?
2. Consider that even though you may not speak it and make every effort to hide, God sees everything and knows every thought and motive behind your every action. Ask the Lord to make your intentions pure and align your will with His will. Afterwards, ask the Lord to create an opportunity for you today to have a faith conversation
3. How can you share your faith with gentleness and respect?
