Groups

Connecting you with others so you can grow in faith, build meaningful relationships, and live it out beyond Sunday

Small groups exist to help you develop community built on meaningful connection, encouragement, and spiritual growth.

Groups are a small gathering of individuals meeting in homes, parks, businesses, or at The Point. Groups foster environments for members to better Love God, Love People, and Love Life. No matter your age, stage of life, or where you are in your journey with God, we want you to find freedom and take the next step.

find a group

Finding a group is one of the best ways to feel connected in church life. It’s where faith grows stronger, friendships deepen, and life becomes more meaningful. Whether you’re new or have been around for years, there’s a place for you to belong and grow together.

What to expect

What do I experience during a group gathering?

Groups typically get together once per week, for one to two hours. At a weekly meeting, there will be time for fellowship, prayer, and Bible study.

What types of groups does The Point have?

Groups are categorized in three ways: Community Groups, Focus Groups, and Interest Groups. Community Groups focus on discipleship and developing supportive relationships with others. Focus Groups are centered around topics such as Marriage, Parenting, Divorce, etc. and are offered at different times throughout the year. Interest Groups are centered around common interests, such as running, motorcycling, or weightlifting. All groups will include a component of scripture, prayer, and discipleship.

When do groups meet throughout the year?

Groups are semester-based with occasional breaks around holidays. Each semester lasts approximately 15 weeks, with an 8-week summer session. However, some groups choose to meet year-round.

What do my children do while I attend a group?

Some groups have onsite childcare, and you can simply bring your children with you. If your group does not offer childcare, childcare reimbursement is available as needed to support families participating in Point groups.

If your group does not offer childcare, you can utilize our Childcare Reimbursement Form to help cover childcare expenses. Simply email info@thepointva.com to request reimbursement information.

To view groups with childcare, please CLICK HERE and select “childcare available” and filter your Groups search by "childcare available”.

Are there groups for teenagers?
