In the busyness of life the idea of “turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding” like this passage instructs, may seem a little challenging. This requires us to calm our mind, steady our heart, and abide in Jesus. We learned earlier in the week that to understand the Lord, we must abide in him. Take a moment today to rest in God’s presence and ask that your heart would be in a poster to receive and understand.
Questions:
- What is something that keeps you from slowing down long enough to abide in Jesus and understand?
- Challenge yourself to spend focused quiet time with God. Slow down and use the teaching movements with this passage.
- We must know God to understand God. Reflect on this and surrender your life to him if you have not already.
