Read Ephesians 2:8–9
"For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God's gift, not from works, so that no one can boast."
Devotional
Have you ever tried really hard to earn something? Maybe you worked hard to get a good grade, make a team, or earn someone's approval. Sometimes we treat God the same way. We think we have to be good enough, do enough, or make fewer mistakes so God will love us.
But Ephesians 2 reminds us that we are saved by grace. Grace means God gives us something we could never earn. Jesus saves us because of His love, not because we are perfect. We don't obey God to earn His love. We obey God because we already have His love. Jesus offers us a fresh start, not because we deserve it, but because He is good.
