Monday September 14: Choose Joy Because God Is With You

Read Philippians 4:4

"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice."

Devotional

When Paul wrote these words, his life was not easy. He faced struggles, rejection, and even imprisonment. Yet he still told others to rejoice.

Joy does not mean you have to pretend everything is perfect. Joy means remembering that God is good, God loves you, and God is with you, even when life is difficult.

You might lose a game, fail a test, have a friendship problem, or experience a disappointing moment. Those things matter, but they do not change who God is.

Your circumstances change every day, but God’s love never changes. When your happiness depends only on things going well, your emotions will constantly go up and down. But when your joy is rooted in God, you can have peace even during hard moments.

Today, choose to look for reasons to thank God and remember His goodness.

Journal Prompts

  1. What is something difficult you are facing where you need God’s joy?
  2. What are three things you can thank God for today?

Prayer

God, help me find my joy in you instead of only in my circumstances. Remind me that you are with me on good days and hard days. Amen.
