Tuesday September 15: God Wants to Carry Your Worries

Read 1 Peter 5:7

"Casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you."

Devotional

Sometimes we carry worries that nobody else knows about. We might look fine on the outside while feeling overwhelmed on the inside.

God tells us to cast our anxieties on Him because He cares about us. The word “cast” means to throw or place something onto someone else. God doesn’t ask you to hold onto your fears and struggles by yourself.

Maybe you worry about what people think of you. Maybe you worry about your future, grades, relationships, or making mistakes. God cares about those things because He cares about you.

Prayer is not just asking God to fix problems. Prayer is also trusting God with the things you cannot control.

Today, take a moment to tell God honestly what is on your heart. He is listening.

Journal Prompts

  1. What is a worry you need to hand over to God?
  2. Why do you think it can be difficult to trust God with your worries?

Prayer

God, you know everything I am carrying. Help me trust you with my fears and worries. Thank you for caring about me and never leaving me alone. Amen.
