Have you ever eaten food that needed salt? Salt brings out flavor and helps preserve food. Jesus says His followers are like salt because we are meant to make the world around us better.
Think about the places you go every week, school, sports practice, your neighborhood, or home. God has placed you there for a reason. You don't have to wait until you're an adult to make a difference. Every encouraging word, every act of kindness, and every honest decision can help others experience God's love.
Jesus also warns us not to "lose our saltiness." When we simply copy everyone else or go along with things we know are wrong, we lose the opportunity to influence others for Him.
Instead of asking, "How can I fit in?" ask, "How can I reflect Jesus today?"

Prayer
Jesus, thank you for giving my life purpose. Help me be "salt" by showing kindness, honesty, and love everywhere I go. Amen.
