40 Days - Week 4

Questions:

1. When you're trying to figure something out, what do you do first?
2. Why do you think it matters to understand what the Bible actually says before deciding what it means?
3. Is there a part of the Bible you've always wanted to understand better?
4. How could we practice these four steps together at home?

Try It Together: Try the four steps together right now using Philippians 2:3-4. Read it out loud first, then work through it as a family:

• Observe: What words stand out? What is it saying?
• Interpret: What do you think God is teaching here?
• Correlate: Can anyone think of another verse about humility or putting others first? (Try Mark 10:45 if you're stuck.)
• Apply: What's one situation this week where someone in our family could live this out?
• It doesn't have to be perfect, just give it a try together!
